Billykirk 'Worn-in' No. 14

Andrew, co-owner and chef of Franny's on Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn, recently sent back his nicely aging 3+ year old No. 150 Claw Buckle Belt in Tan to have a rivet repaired. We were happy to oblige and after it was all sorted out I snapped this shot. It's as good as new now. He also has a black one.

FYI - NY Magazine just ranked Franny's as having one of the top 20 pies in the city.

Billykirk Testimonial No. 1

I have been meaning to post some e-mail testimonials from customers who are pleased with their Billykirk purchases. While the old adage, "no news is good news" is likely true in most cases, it's certainly far better to receive news that is good news.

These complimentary emails are reminders of why we do what we do and further justify our design and manufacturing processes.

"I decided to message you because over the past year of travels and beyond your bag has gotten me nothing but great compliments and in's with girls. From Milan to Vegas, I've been stopped by people just asking about it, so thank you."

Bruce Springsteen Turns 60

Bruce has a lot of East Coast shows coming up Sept-Nov. so get your tickets to see this American legend.

FYI - If you have been living under a rock and don't have his 1982 album Nebraska in your Ipod then check it out. It is one of my all time favorite albums.

Badlands, a 2000 tribute album featuring only songs from Nebraska, is a must as well. The whole compilation is really well done. The songs by Crooked Fingers, Ben Harper, Son Volt, Dar Williams and Chrissie Hynde/Adam Seymour are incredible.

Billykirk 'Worn In' No. 13

Robert from Asheville, NC just sent me some images of his nicely worn-in Tan No. 92 card case with Jackalope emboss. Circa 2004.

The Jackalope is the unofficial mascot at Billykirk. I have always had a fondness for these critters and the folklore that surrounds them. You can find these stuffed jackrabbits with deer horns in pubs and bars/restaurants all over rural MN, WI and IA. After a long day of hunting or fishing we would inevitably end up at one of these hole-in-the-walls and there they would be staring down at you from the rafters.
