At Billykirk we live by a few basic design tenants:
1) The "K.I.S.S." Principle which means, "Keep it Simple Stupid." I was taught this in Marketing class at the U of M and refer to it regularly.
2) "Ornamentation Should Only Emphasize the Harmony of the Pieces but Must Not Dominate." By Harold Nielsen, the great silver designer at Georg Jensen. This quote is posted in our design studio.
3) "Beaten Paths Are For Beaten Men" Author unknown but in our industry this quote is paramount.
