Belt/Key Fobs at the Pop Up Flea

The cutting die used to make these was in a large lot of cutting dies we bought from a leathercrafter who was making them in the late 60's - 70's in CA.

6 ounce harness weight leather +
dull brass hardware.

Tom Ran of The Scout contacted us in May of this year to do a video on us. We were flattered! Tom and his crew were extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. Likewise, their still-photographer, Rose Callahan was equally fantastic. Anyone looking for portrait work should look her up. So, hats off to them for their stellar work and for including us in their first documentary.

Impermanent Bliss

If you are in or around the Old City area of Philadelphia this Friday evening stop by the store/gallery Art in The Age for their 1 year anniversary party and artist reception for their upcoming show entitled, "Impermanent Bliss." Kirk, the other half of Billykirk, along with fellow artists, Eric Amling and Matt LaFleur will be showing their work.

Billykirk Testimonial #3

This is not so much a testimonial as it is a quote that rings true for us daily as we drop Powerbooks, Ipods or cameras into their proper Billykirk pouch or satchel.

"Your work is very handsome....and I like the ancient/future connection between Amish traditions and the oncoming technological world."

Jack, Cincinatti, OH
Economist
*No 90 Belt Pouch in Brown

Mixing high-tech gadgetry with age old leather making techniques and hand-stitched details is one of the characteristics that embodies what is Billykirk.

When we were designing one of our iPod cases around 5 years ago this quote was very evident. After all, our Amish manufacturers probably have no idea what a phonograph is let alone an Ipod. When we visit them with new designs it is interesting to see their reactions. Having them make cell phone and camera holders for us, gadgets they are not allowed to use, is strangely obscene in away.

My neighbor and friend Angus Vail is an attorney/rock manager for the legendary band Kiss, Aussie metal heads Airborne, soulful UK band Aqualung, and hardcore North Carolina rockers Valient Thor, amongst others. He is now throwing his acting and interviewing talents into the TV/Entertainment ring.

This is the trailer to his new food/travel show, "Past Food to Fast Food." Look quick and you may spot him wearing a few Billykirk belts......Enjoy.
